Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan spoke about the pace of construction of the road bypassing Lachin, expressed hope that it will be operational starting May 2023.
“The road stretches from Tegh village to Kornidzor and then to the border. It is 11 km 700 meters, 3 construction companies are working. We have overcome the main difficulties and complications related to earthworks and rock blasting, about 80 percent of those works have already been done.
We are happy, the weather is allowing us at the moment, we are working at a fast pace, we will finish the earthworks by the end of this month, at the same time, pipes are being installed, retaining walls will be built.
Our goal is to pave the asphalt of the road by May. If the weather permits, we will pave two layers with asphalt, if not, we will pave one layer with asphalt, the road will be open, in the meantime we will put the other layers,” Sanosyan informed.
