The crisis in Lachin Corridor hasn’t been resolved since last week, with the exception of one thing –natural gas supply to Nagorno Karabakh was restored, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said at the Cabinet meeting.
“The humanitarian situation in Nagorno Karabakh remains critically tense as a result of Azerbaijan’s unlawful blockade of Lachin Corridor. Hundreds of families continue to be separated, having appeared on different sides of the blockade against their will. Shortages of a number of essential goods, including food are seen in Nagorno Karabakh,” Pashinyan said.
PM Pashinyan said Azerbaijan’s actions of closing the Lachin Corridor are unlawful and are grossly violating its international obligations, namely the terms of the 9 November 2020 trilateral statement. “According to clause 6 of the statement, like I’ve said many times, the Lachin Corridor is under the control of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and Azerbaijan must guarantee the security of movement of people, transport and goods along the Lachin Corridor,” the PM said.
