Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze attended the tripartite defense ministerial of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia hosted by Turkey, 1tv.ge reports.
Following bilateral meetings, Juansher Burchuladze met with his Turkish and Azerbaijani colleagues, Hulusi Akar and Zakir Hasanov, in a tripartite format.
The parties discussed the regional security landscape and challenges in the Black Sea region, as well as the current events in Ukraine.
The ministerial meeting emphasised the significance of increasing energy security and diversifying the energy carrier supply. Furthermore, the sides discussed existing and future defense cooperation.
According to Juansher Burchuladze, combined training and expert-level discussions bring the militaries of the three countries closer together and promote mutual compatibility.
The defence ministers signed a tripartite ministerial communique. This year’s Tripartite Defense Ministerial took place in Kayseri, Turkey.
