Planned surgeries are still suspended in hospitals across Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) as a result of the Azerbaijani blockade of Lachin Corridor, the only road linking Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and the rest of the world, the Ministry of Healthcare of Nagorno-Karabakh said in a statement.
At this moment there is no shortage of essential medicine and medical items, but carrying out supply is impossible.
11 patients at the Republican Medical Center of Nagorno-Karabakh are in intensive care, 4 of whom are in critical condition and doctors are doing everything they can to stabilize their situation.
10 children are in intensive care at the Arevik hospital. One of the children is in critical condition. Doctors are providing the necessary treatment and are receiving online consultations from doctors in Armenia.
“The Ministry of Healthcare of Artsakh is taking all possible measures to properly overcome the situation resulting from the blockade,” the statement reads.
