Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan met with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Tobias Billström and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs Aron Emillson and the Committee members on December 15, the Office of the Security Council Secretary said.
Armen Grigoryan presented the current humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan’s blockade of the Lachin Corridor since December 12. The Corridor is the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia and the outside world. In this context he emphasized the importance of an adequate response by the international community.
Swedish FM Tobias Billström highlighted the readiness of Sweden to support ensuring stability and overcoming the conflicts in the region both within the frames of the OSCE and with the support of the European Union.
