In a telephone conversation, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held talks over the latest developments in bilateral ties and important regional issues, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran reports.
Amirabdollahian referred to the good opportunities of ties between Iran and Turkey and welcomed further deepening of relations, especially in economic, trade and cultural areas.
He reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to help resolve regional disputes and establish peace and security in the region.
The top Iranian diplomat also supported the pursuit of the political process in Syria, saying only through cooperation and coordination among regional nations can lasting security be established in the country.
Çavuşoğlu also said during the telephone conversation that Turkey is pleased with the growing relations with Iran. The Turkish foreign minister also stressed that expansion of ties between Tehran and Ankara helps strengthen regional security and stability.
He described boosting regional cooperation with Iran as highly constructive and welcomed contacts between the high-ranking officials of the two nations.
