USAID Administrator Samantha Power released a video message for the 4th Global Forum ‘Against the Crime of Genocide’.
“I have been very fortunate over the course of my career to have met survivors of the Armenian Genocide as well as new generations of Armenians and members of the Diaspora who have worked tirelessly in pursuit of justice and Genocide recognition,” Samantha Power stated.
Power said that today US is home to more than 2 million Armenian Americans who are mostly the descendants of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
“It is thanks to their relentless advocacy that in 2021 President Biden became the first US President to formally recognize the Armenian Genocide,” Power stated.
