USA SHOULD TAKE STEPS TO CONTROL BAKU'S AGGRESSION: SHERMAN
The United States must be a leader in taking real steps to curb Azerbaijan’s aggression against Artsakh and Armenia, Congressman Brad Sherman said in a statement.
“I am deeply disturbed by reports of a humanitarian calamity currently unfolding in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) as a result of Azerbaijan’s continued and unabated campaign of aggression against the Armenian people,” he said.
“Azerbaijan has reportedly imposed a blockade on the only road connecting Artsakh with Armenia and the primary means by which food, medical supplies and other vital resources are transported to the region. As a result, the lives of Artsakh’s 120,000 Armenians, and the prospect for peace in the region, remain in grave jeopardy,” the Congressman noted.
“The international community must unequivocally condemn this egregious provocation and take every available and necessary step to support the Armenian people during this critical situation. The United States especially must be a leader in this effort by taking real steps to curb Azerbaijan’s aggression against Artsakh and Armenia – starting with enforcing Section 907,” he added.
“This is yet another painful moment for the Armenian community as they continue to face unrelenting acts of aggression from Azerbaijan since the 2020 war. However, I have seen first hand the resilience and determination of the Armenian people, and I will always stand with the people of Armenia and Artsakh as we continue to fight together for an end to attacks against Armenia and Artsakh,” Rep. Sherman said.
BAKU SHOWED ITS INTELLIGENCE AGAIN: CARDENAS
Tony Cardenas, member of the US House of Representatives, emphasized that by blocking the Lachin Corridor and preventing the supply of essential goods to the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan once again showed its insanity and willingness to endanger the lives of civilians.
“Washington must make Azerbaijan understand that continuous dehumanization of Armenians and putting them in danger is unacceptable,” Cardenas wrote.
Congresswoman Grace Main also condemned Azerbaijan's aggressive actions in Nagorno-Karabakh.
A member of the US House of Representatives wrote: “This is another example of well-documented atrocities against the Armenian people. I call on the US to work to bring the parties back to the negotiating table.”
PROCESS OF ANOTHER ARMENIAN GENOCIDE MUST STOP NOW: COX
The process of another Armenian Genocide must stop now, Member of the House of Lords, Baroness Caroline Cox wrote on Twitter.
“Britain’s standing in the world will not be enhanced by allowing its oil interests in Azerbaijan to take precedence over the lives, liberty and land of the Armenian Christians of Nagorno-Karabakh.”
Baroness Caroline Cox has sent an urgent letter to UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs regarding Nagorno Karabakh.
The letter from Baroness Caroline Cox and Dr John Eibner, International President of Christian Solidarity International (CSI), urges the UK Government to use its favor with Azerbaijan immediately to cease its policies of inflicting this intense suffering on the Armenians living in Nagorno Karabakh.
They encourage supporters and followers to write to their MPs, urging the UK Government to take action.
SETTLEMENT THROUGH DIALOGUE ONLY
The Polish presidency in the OSCE follows the alarming tension around the Lachin Corridor, calls not to ignore the fact that the created situation can lead to severe humanitarian consequences.
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe insists that settlement is possible only through dialogue.
SWITZERLAND CONCERNED ABOUT POSSIBLE HUMANITARIAN CONSEQUENCES
Switzerland is concerned about developments around the Lachin Corridor with possible humanitarian consequences, Ambassador Anna Ifkovits wrote on her Twitter page.
"Free movement through the corridor should be restored as soon as possible, and negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan should be resumed in order to resolve all pending issues," the post says.
