Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on the close military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, especially appointment of Bakhtiyar Ersay, a Turkish General, as an advisor to the Azerbaijani Defense Minister.
Zakharova was asked to comment on the matter at the weekly press briefing of the Russian Foreign Ministry. “Any country has the right to establish military and military-technical cooperation with partner countries, but we believe that it should not be directed against other countries and should not breach the balance of powers in the South Caucasus. We are regularly conveying this narrative to our partners in the region,” Zakharova said.
