French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna highlighted the necessity to extend the EU monitoring mission’s mandate deployed in Armenia since October 20, 2022. “Through the border monitoring, this mission has really restricted the danger of escalation”, the Colonna said during a Q&A session in the National Assembly.
She stated that the tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan has not eased. Catherine Colonna reaffirmed the support of France and the European Union to Armenia and vowed to make constant efforts for the establishment of peace in the region.
