The Minister of Defense of Turkey observed the Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercise ‘Brotherhood Fist’ in Azerbaijan. Hulusi Akar stated during the meeting with the participants of the drills that Turkey and Azerbaijan are two brotherly countries.
According to him, in case of any threat and danger, in times of sadness and joy, the two countries are united, as the world witnessed during the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“We have shown the power of the Turks to the whole world,” he stressed.
According to Hulusi Akar, many international organizations led by the EU have started sending delegations to the region to protect Armenia. He warned that Turkey is on Azerbaijan's side.
“Once again, we want to emphasize that, if necessary, we can be one army, one fist with Azerbaijan. Regardless of where and from whom the threat against Turkey or Azerbaijan comes from, we will admit that it is directed against both countries. We will accept our friend as a friend, and the enemy as an enemy,” said the Turkish Defense Minister.
Akar added that the region needs a future built on development, respect for international law and friendly relations, not a future built on conflict, hatred and enmity.
