The newly appointed Ambassador of Egypt to Armenia Serenade Soliman Gamil presented her credentials to the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturian.
President Khachaturyan congratulated the newly appointed Ambassador and wished her success and fruitful work.
"Egypt has had great importance in our history and still has, and it is binding for us to maintain and develop our relations," the President emphasized, stressing that the expected visit of the Egyptian President to Armenia next year will be the best stimulus for cooperation.
Thanking for the reception, Ambassador Serenad Soliman Gamil noted that it is a great honor for her to represent the Republic of Egypt in Armenia and to contribute to the development of the centuries-old Armenian-Egyptian relations.
During the meeting, the newly appointed Ambassador thanked President Khachaturyan for his participation in the 27th Conference of Parties to the UN Climate Change Convention in Sharm El Sheikh in November.
During the conversation, the President of the Republic referred to the current Armenian-Azerbaijani contacts and the opportunities and obstacles to achieving peace in the region and emphasized the importance of presenting the objective reality regarding regional developments to the representatives of partner countries.
Referring to the opportunities for cooperation on international platforms, the newly appointed Ambassador expressed willingness to support the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus as much as possible.
