Turkey will complete the creation of a 30-kilometer security zone along its southern borders, Turkish President Recep Erdogan announced.
“We will not allow a terrorist corridor to be created near our borders. We will certainly complete the establishment of a 30-kilometer security zone along our southern borders. No terrorist attack, no one will force us to abandon these plans,” the Turkish president said.
Earlier, Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar called on the US to be understanding about Ankara's possible military operation in Syria. Washington criticized the Turkish authorities for preparing for military operations.
