On the sidelines of the 29th OSCE Ministerial Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani.
Taking into account the upcoming chairmanship of North Macedonia in the OSCE, Ararat Mirzoyan and Bujar Osmani exchanged views on the implemented activities and challenges within the organization, and the involvement of the OSCE in the South Caucasus. The importance of the visit of the OSCE Needs Assessment Mission to Armenia was also highlighted.
Touching upon the security situation in the region, Minister Mirzoyan noted that Azerbaijan's warmongering rhetoric and continuous aggressions challenge international efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability, increasing the possibility of new escalations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia briefed his counterpart on the humanitarian issues requiring urgent solution, particularly emphasizing the need for the repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war, hostages and other detained persons.
