International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi said on Tuesday the organization will strengthen its presence in Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
Grossi noted he met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to discuss their joint efforts to work on the "urgent establishment of a nuclear safety and security protection zone" around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP). "I also confirmed that IAEA will strengthen its presence in all Ukrainian NPPs to protect its energy infrastructure," the IAEA chief tweeted following the meeting.
Earlier, Russian-installed officials insisted the ZNPP is still under Russian control, while the Ukrainian side claimed Russian forces started restricting employees' access to the building.
