Christmas trees will be installed in many districts of Kyiv, but there will be no mass celebrations, Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said.
“We understand that mass events are prohibited during war and they will not take place under any circumstances.
However, no one is going to cancel New Year and Christmas, and the atmosphere of New Year should be there.
Despite different opinions on whether it is necessary or not, we turned to businessmen who agreed to put up Christmas trees with their own funds, not the budget, without New Year's pathos," RBC Ukraine quoted Klitschko as saying.
