Attempt to impede the activity of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will continue, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in the "Moscow. Kremlin Putin" program on the Rossiya-1 TV channel on Sunday, TASS reports.
"There have always been attempts to disintegrate the CSTO. They will continue," the spokesman said in a conversation with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
"But at least now we see that despite all the difficulties, despite the possible contradictions even between the member states, this organization is still in demand. And it has fully demonstrated its relevance and effectiveness," Peskov stressed referring to the settlement of the situation in Kazakhstan.
The level of relations between Russia and Turkey allows the countries to resolve the existing differences on Syria through negotiations, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday in an interview with the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin." program, a fragment of which journalist Pavel Zarubin uploaded to his Telegram channel.
"We do have differences with Turkey on Syria," the Kremlin spokesman said. He reiterated that earlier, the parties managed to neutralize such differences at the talks in Sochi, with a relevant document signed then.
"After that, we heard statements by President [of Turkey Recep Tayyip] Erdogan, and there were also statements from our representatives who said that we also were not satisfied with the way Turkey was fulfilling its obligations," Peskov explained.
However, "the level of our relations and political wisdom allows us to resolve all such disagreements not through confrontation, but through intensive, even if long, but still negotiations," he pointed out. "And this level of mutual understanding and mutual respect is really a good basis to discuss even such difficult situations," Peskov explained.
