The joint session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils has started in Yerevan.
In the opening speech, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan introduced the guests and noted that the agenda is quite full, including both political and security issues.
Mirzoyan expressed hope that it will be possible to exchange ideas in a constructive atmosphere, assess the current situation in the context of international and regional security, and highlight possible challenges for the CSTO countries.
Later today, the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council will be held chaired by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. Leaders of CSTO member states are already arriving in Armenia. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan meets them at the airport.
It is expected that the military-political situation, improvement of the organization's crisis response system and joint measures to support Armenia will be discussed.
