The CSTO Collective Security Council session, chaired by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, started in Yerevan.
The leaders of all the member countries of the organization have already arrived at the meeting place. The Prime Minister of Armenia welcomed them. International and regional security issues and the main results of CSTO activities will be discussed.
It is planned to adopt the declaration of the Collective Security Council. A number of documents will be signed, which refer to arming the peacekeeping forces with modern weapons, military and special equipment, and the formation of joint radiological, chemical and biological defense.
In the context of the rotation expected from January 1, 2023, the issue of CSTO Secretary General will also be discussed.
Nikol Pashinyan (Prime Minister of Armenia) - During the last 2 years, CSTO member Armenia was attacked by Azerbaijan at least three times. Armenia's membership in the CSTO did not stop Azerbaijan from aggressive actions.
In fact, until today, it was not possible to come to a common statement regarding CSTO's response to the aggression against Armenia. These facts deal a serious blow to CSTO's reputation, both inside Armenia and abroad.
I consider this to be the biggest failure of Armenia's presidency in the CSTO.
