During the joint session of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Council, Stanislav Zas presented the agenda, which proposes to discuss the following issues during the meeting:
“The military-political situation of CSTO collective security regions and the activities of the organization. I will then inform you about the preparation of the documents. We have 24 documents prepared, approved and submitted for your attention. Twenty-four documents are expected to be signed with your consent after discussion.
I confirm once again that they have passed the procedures required by our organization. And even yesterday, some documents were updated,” Zas said.
During his speech, the CSTO General Secretary also touched upon the issue of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
“Dear participants of the joint meeting, taking into account the recommendations of the Collective Security Council, the permission of other statutory bodies, the priorities of the Armenian presidency, we present the project of strengthening the unity of the CSTO member states and further activating the activities of the organization in all directions.
Taking into account that recently the negative trends in the development of the international situation are manifested with particular severity, our efforts are of particular importance.
In the Caucasus region, the efforts of the Armenian Government and other participants are playing a positive role in reaching peace agreements, legalizing borders and unblocking transport communications. At the same time, tension is maintained on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The information we received through the CSTO Crisis Response Center confirms that there are skirmishes on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border almost every day.
In general, the project of the Collective Security Council on joint measures to provide assistance to the Republic of Armenia, which was prepared on the basis of the conclusions and recommendations of the CSTO observation mission, was agreed upon,” Zas added.
