The city of Vsevolzhsk (Leningrad region) has started a fire after an explosion at a gas pipeline, regional governor Aleksandr Drozdenko said in his Telegram channel, reports RBC.
"Firefighters and rescuers are eliminating the fire caused by an explosion on the gas pipeline between Berngardovka and Kovalevo," he said.
According to him, there is no threat to the population and the spread of fire to residential areas. The reasons for the explosion are being found out, he added.
The microdistrict of Berngardovka and the village of Kovalevo are part of the Vsevolozhsk urban settlement (Vsevolzhsk city).
"According to preliminary information, the fire is being extinguished at a gas station near Vsevolozhsk by two rescue teams," the regional administration told RBC.
