Germany is ready for difficulties due to the lack of Russian gas supplies. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a speech at an event of the Social Democratic Party in the city of Friedrichshafen, his words are quoted by TASS.
In his opinion, the country is ready to survive the winter without any power outages. In addition, he recalled that the German authorities decided to extend the life of coal and nuclear power plants.
As other measures aimed at overcoming the difficulties that have arisen, the country’s leadership filled gas storage facilities, and also began to build terminals for receiving liquefied natural gas.
Earlier, the newspaper Handelsblatt announced the completion of the construction of the country’s first mobile terminal for receiving ships with liquefied natural gas in the city of Wilhelmshaven. The terminal will start accepting fuel tankers as early as January 2023.
