President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation of special envoys of the EU and EU member states on Eastern Partnership.
Welcoming the delegation’s visit to Armenia, the President highlighted the continuous and multilayered development of the Armenia-EU partnership.
President Khachaturyan said Armenia is consistently implementing its commitments assumed within the Eastern Partnership program aimed at ensuring the welfare of its citizens, fighting corruption, increasing efficiency of governance, human rights protection and conducting reforms in social, healthcare sectors.
The President introduced the EU delegates on the regional realities and developments, the security issues, as well as touched upon the latest Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia’s sovereign territory and highlighted the presence of OSCE needs assessment mission in Armenia.
In his remarks the President also said that Armenia’s principled position is to establish peace in the region and friendly relations with neighbors.
Views were exchanged on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border delimitation and demarcation process, the importance of regional security and the current phase of the Armenia-Turkey dialogue.
