On November 15, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan hosted the special envoys of the EU and EU member states of Eastern partnership issues, who were accompanied by the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Armenia H.E. Mrs. Andrea Wiktorin, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Armenia H.E. Mr. Pawel Cieplak.
During the meeting, the Defender presented the mandate, and powers of the Defender’s Office, and the priority working directions of the institution.
The Defender answered the inquires of the members of the delegation, referred to the challenges faced during the year, and the current situation, and the priorities of the institution. The Defender also presented the consequences of the Azerbaijani military attack on the sovereign territory of Armenia on September 13-14. The Human Rights Defender also referred to the guaranteeing of legal equality, the combat against hate speech, legal empowerment of women, and issues related to the combat against domestic violence.
The members of the delegation thanked the Defender’s Office for the conducted work.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Defender handed to the members of the delegation the ad hoc reports prepared by the Defender’s Office.
