On November 16, the first session of the interdepartmental commission on prisoners, hostages and missing persons established by the decision of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia on October 20, 2022 was held at the National Security Service.
Before proceeding to the issues of the agenda, the chairman of the commission, the director of the National Security Service, Armen Abazyan, made an opening speech. Welcoming the attendees, Armen Abazyan presented the tasks of the newly formed commission and expressed hope that the revised composition and functions of the commission will allow to carry out the search and return of prisoners, hostages and missing persons in a more coordinated and mutually agreed manner.
Then the selection of non-governmental organizations that have applied to be included in the interdepartmental commission on prisoners, hostages and missing persons took place. Among the organizations that had submitted applications, three were selected.
The chairman of the committee gave specific instructions to the members of the committee. The commission decided to convene the next session on December 16, 2022.
