Azerbaijan’s victory in the war of 2020 reminds of the Armenian Genocide in 1915. Now, taking advantage of Russia's being busy in Ukraine, Azerbaijan wants to achieve more. André Guiol, member of the French Senate, announced this.
According to him, Azerbaijan speaks from the position of strength, trying to force Armenia to make new concessions.
“We should vote in favor of this resolution in order to force Azerbaijan to obey the norms of international law. Azerbaijani forces must withdraw from Lachine Corridor. We must support the French Government to influence Azerbaijan through the UN Security Council and the EU. We have a moral duty to Armenians,” the senator said.
The French Senate discussed the resolution calling for the immediate withdrawal of the Azerbaijani armed forces from the occupied territories of Armenia, ensuring the implementation of the November 9, 2020 ceasefire statement and imposing sanctions against Azerbaijan, which was followed by the vote.
