Armenia is a victim of Azerbaijani aggression, and our indifference is deplorable, said Jean-Louis Masson, a member of the French Senate.
“This project is very important. Dictator Aliyev must be brought to justice. The role of Turkey should not be ignored either. Erdogan seems to be trying to create conflict hotbeds in all areas adjacent to Turkey. He does not admit the crime of 1915. It seems that they are carrying out the second Genocide against the Armenians, as well as the third Genocide against the Kurds.
The attitude of NATO and the European Union towards Armenia is discriminatory. For example, we left Russia out of the Council of Europe, but we do not do the same in the case of Azerbaijan and Turkey. The worst thing is that we even double the volume of natural gas purchases. When we compare what is happening in Ukraine and Armenia, we can say that France and the Council of Europe approve of what is happening, ignoring war crimes. The leaders of the EU are morally responsible for the situation created today,” said the Senator.
Jean-Louis Masson made the statement during the discussion of the resolution calling for the immediate withdrawal of the armed forces of Azerbaijan from the occupied territories of Armenia, ensuring the implementation of the ceasefire agreement of November 9, 2020 and imposing sanctions against Azerbaijan, held in the French Senate.
