Armen Khachatryan, Deputy Chairman of the Armenia’s Defense and Security Affairs Committee, referred to the acquisition of weapons in a briefing with journalists at the Parlaiment.
“We will try to follow the fulfillment of the contractual obligations with the Russian Federation, but there are weapons that can and should be purchased from other countries,” said Khachatryan.
The parliamentarian sees the future of Armenia in being a military-industrial country.
“We have no other option. We need to produce the best weapons of a certain type, to be able to export these weapons. This will increase our level of defense.
Most importantly, we have the raw materials in Armenia. By raw I mean intelligence and professional ability. I am confident that in a few years our military industry will have something to say in the world market,” said Khachatryan.
