The 30th anniversary of the intelligence troops and the professional holiday of the intelligence officers of the Armed Forces of Armenia were solemnly celebrated Saturday at the military unit, the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia informs.
Before the start of the solemn event, Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defense Edward Asryan laid flowers at the memorial and cross-stone which perpetuate the memory of the Armenian servicemen who fell during the 44-day war in 2020 and the subsequent military actions.
Minister of Defense Papikyan lauded the role and importance of the intelligence units in the path of the 30-year-old Armenian army.
The minister assured that in the near future all the necessary prerequisites and conditions will be created which will provide an opportunity to increase the combat-readiness and physical training of servicemen, and that new and modern intelligence means will be acquired.
At the end of the event, a group of servicemen from the special units of the Armenian Armed Forces were awarded with MOD medals, badges, and valuable gifts.
Also, the minister of defense presented posthumous awards to the relatives of several fallen soldiers.
