Russia will maintain interest in oil sales on the global market after the introduction of a price cap. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated during the press conference held at the end of the G7 foreign ministers' meeting, commenting on the statement of the Russian side that the sale of oil to countries that will set a maximum price ceiling for it will be stopped.
According to the US Secretary of State, Russia must sell energy carriers in order to provide for its economy.
The finance ministers of the G7 countries had earlier announced their intention to introduce a price cap for oil from Russia, prohibiting the provision of services for sea transportation of Russian oil if it is sold at a price higher than the agreed ceiling.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that Moscow will stop the supply of oil and oil products to countries that decide to limit the price of oil from Russia.
