The Turkish Parliament has approved the extension of the mandate of the Turkish military in Azerbaijan.
The respective bill signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was approved Tuesday at the plenary session of the Turkish Parliament.
Thus, the term of the Turkish military mission in Azerbaijan will be extended for another year, starting from November 17.
The joint Russian-Turkish monitoring center where the Turkish military is stationed “continues its activities successfully,” the document states.
“The continuation of the mission of the Turkish military in the joint center is necessary for Turkey's effective and constructive role in the region and is in its national interests,” reports Anadolu Agency.
