During the weekly briefing, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, referred to the Putin-Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting in Sochi and its results, and noted that the contacts will continue.
She repeated the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that “it is a mistake to put some sensitive issues to public discussion, as it can hinder the negotiation process.”
“Foreign ministers of three countries also met in Sochi. However, it was not a negotiation at the level of delegations, it was a conversation between three ministers or tête-à-tête communication. Of course, that conversation was held in the context of negotiations between the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan,” said Zakharova.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry answered the question of one of the Turkish media on how Moscow evaluates the developments around the so-called ‘Zangezur Corridor’, stressing:
“We use the term 'route'. The issue of unblocking transportation links in the region was also discussed in Sochi. An agreement was reached that the relevant processes will continue within the framework of the trilateral working group, under the joint chairmanship of the deputy prime ministers of the three states, as defined by the statement of the heads of the three countries on January 11, 2021.”
