Azerbaijan could not resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully. CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas announced this at the meeting with the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.
Before assuming that position, Zas often visited Azerbaijan as the Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus.
“I have talked with them many times, I have seen that the country was actively preparing for the force option. I told them that the issue should be resolved through negotiations. “Stanislav Vasilevich, we have been trying to come to an agreement for 30 years. How much more can be negotiated?” they said. The situation had matured, of course, and it was what it was. Unfortunately, it is. They could not resolve the issue peacefully," the official website of the President of Belarus quotes Zas as saying.
