The meeting between President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took place. The Russian President thanked Aliyev for visiting Sochi. Putin highlighted the fact that the meeting was organized at the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia.
“The purpose of this meeting is to ensure the fulfillment of all the agreements we reached in 2020 and 2021. You have repeatedly mentioned that Russia played a significant and important role in the settlement of the conflict. And now our peacekeeping troops carry out their mission as it should. I am grateful for these evaluations,” Putin said.
The President of the Russian Federation emphasized the importance of finding ways to solve the still unresolved issues.
“It is necessary to talk about the situation that has arisen today, to look for ways to solve the still unresolved issues. In this regard, I would also highlight an important component of an economic nature: we have created a trilateral working group headed by the deputy prime ministers. They have advanced a lot in terms of solving the issues we were talking about two years ago. Here too, apparently, it is necessary to give additional momentum. I know that the Azerbaijani side is working quite actively in this direction. The range of issues is quite large,” President Putin said.
