Russia expects that during the trilateral summit in Sochi, progress will be made in the issue of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said, RBC reports.
The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that there are still many problems, and they will be discussed at the meeting on October 31. “We hope that it will somehow make it possible to move forward on a number of issues, including the signing of a peace treaty,” Rudenko said.
Armenia’s Prime Minister Pashinyan said yesterday that he is ready to sign a document at the Sochi summit on extending the mandate of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh for up to 20 years. They are there due to the agreement signed by Moscow, Yerevan and Baku in fall 2020.
