Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Hambardzum Matevosyan said the participation of Armenians from around the world in the 1st Global Armenian Summit gives the chance to jointly discuss and develop new opportunities for the continuous development of Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora, mutually beneficial formats of partnership and to outline priorities and initiate useful program.
“The modern world, including our region, has embarked into an era of global changes which includes the most serious challenges, ranging from security issues up to preservation of identity, economic development realities to the need of proposing innovative solutions aimed at overcoming them,” Hambardzumyan said in his remarks, emphasizing that the existing challenges can be overcome and the partnership can be raised to a new institutional strategic level only through uniting the efforts of Armenia, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and the Diaspora.
He emphasized that the Global Armenian Summit is an exclusive opportunity to strengthen the Armenia-Diaspora ties, to make the voice of Diaspora communities heard, and to convey the important message that the Diaspora is Armenia’s strong foothold and reliable partner, which is proved by the full-swing ongoing repatriation and capital inflow, which is significant in terms of improving economic indicators and the demographic situation.
