President of Russia Vladimir Putin took part in the extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in the format of a video conference and addressed the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
"As for the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement, we are still doing our best to achieve a complex and comprehensive settlement of relations between Yerevan and Baku.
I would like to note at once that it is clear to everyone, it is obvious to everyone, both Armenia and Azerbaijan, we were all part of a united state not so long ago. We have huge ties with both Yerevan and Baku, and it is simply impossible not to take that into account.
All of us are certainly in a difficult situation. But, of course, we cannot stay away from the problems and contradictions between the states close to Russia and we are always ready to contribute to their peaceful settlement. In general, we are certainly interested in Transcaucasia being a calm and steadily developing region,” Putin said.
