The meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and Guinea-Bissau took place in Kyiv. According to Volodymyr Zelensky, Umaro Sissoca Embalo is the first African leader to visit Ukraine since February 24.
The President of Ukraine informed that the parties discussed Ukraine's efforts to overcome the food crisis, as well as the prospects of economic cooperation between African countries and Kyiv.
It is also noted that the President of Guinea-Bissau left for Kyiv after the earlier meeting with the President of Russia and conveyed to Zelensky the message of Vladimir Putin that the latter is ready to negotiate with the President of Ukraine.
Dmitry Peskov, Spokesperson of the Russian President, responded to this statement, noting that Putin did not send a message to Zelensky through the President of Guinea-Bissau. “Our partner from the African state has expressed a desire to convey Putin's position to the Ukrainian side,” Peskov noted.
