Armenia has two very clear expectations from the CSTO: a clear political assessment to the Azeri aggression against sovereign territory of Armenia and the adoption of a roadmap for restoring the territorial integrity of Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in parliament during questions time.
He reminded that Armenia applied to the CSTO following the September attack by the Azeri military, and the CSTO Collective Security Council adopted a decision on sending a team to Armenia to observe and assess the situation on the ground.
“Now, we are soon initiating an emergency session of the Collective Security Council to discuss the report. I hope that the session will take place as soon as possible,” Pashinyan said.
Speaking about expectations, the Armenian PM said: “There is a very clear expectation: first, that the CSTO gives a clear political assessment to what had happened and second, to adopt a roadmap on restoring Armenia’s territorial integrity. These are the two expectations, which I think are not only the Armenian government’s expectations but also the expectations of the Armenian society and people.”
Pashinyan said that by making these two decisions many questions raised by the society and the government will receive answers.
