Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated New Delhi’s position on the need to build dialogue to resolve the Ukrainian conflict in a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu, as Singh himself wrote on Twitter.
"Had a telephonic conversation with the Defense Minister of Russia, Mr Sergey Shoigu today. We discussed bilateral cooperation, as well as the deteriorating situation in Ukraine," the tweet reads. "I reiterated India’s position on the need to pursue the path of dialogue and diplomacy for an early resolution of the conflict," Singh added.
The Indian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the phone call had been initiated by Russia and the two defense chiefs had agreed to maintain contact.
