Today, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received the European Parliament's Standing Rapporteur on Armenia Andrey Kovatchev.
The Prime Minister highly appreciated the activity of Mr. Kovatchev and the cooperation with the European Parliament, which stems from the interest of the agenda of democratic reforms of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the mediation efforts of the EU towards achieving peace in the region and attached importance to the EU observation mission on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
The interlocutors exchanged thoughts on the course of democratic reforms, regional issues, the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh, border delimitation between Armenia and Azerbaijan and other issues. Nikol Pashinyan referred to the issue of Armenian prisoners of war, hostages and other detained persons kept in Azerbaijan until now, expressed gratitude to the European Parliament for the resolutions adopted to ensure their return and emphasized the continuous efforts of the Council of Europe in this direction.
Within the framework of the meeting, reference was made to the report to be published by the European Parliament in the near future.
