On October 22, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan accepted the needs assessment mission of the OSCE, headed by the representative of Poland in the OSCE, Colonel Robert Tkaczyk.
Welcoming the members of the mission, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the OSCE needs assessment mission in Armenia, the necessity of which arose after Azerbaijan's aggression against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia on September 13-14, fully corresponds to the organization's mandate and goals.
Based on Armenia's application, the decision to send an OSCE needs assessment mission to the Republic of Armenia was made by the OSCE chairing country and the secretariat, based on relevant decisions of the OSCE Ministerial Council, which were adopted with the agreement of all participating countries of the Organization.
Armenia’s Foreign Minister expressed hope that the mission's activities, observations and final report will be a source of objective information about the situation created after the Azerbaijani aggression for the OSCE presidency, secretariat and member states, as well as play a role in preventing new possible aggressions and establishing stable peace in the region.
The representative of Armenia’s Armed Forces General Staff, participating in the meeting, presented the current situation in the border regions to the members of the mission.
