On October 20, in the Regional Council of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes of France, the President of the region, Laurent Wauquiez, Ambassador of Armenia to France, Hasmik Tolmajian, and the Governor of Syunik, Robert Ghukasyan, made a joint press statement regarding Azerbaijan's large-scale aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia on September 13-14 and its consequences, the effective cooperation formed between the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and Armenia, as well as the intention to establish a partnership between the region and Syunik province.
In her speech, Ambassador Tolmajian highly appreciated the commitment of President Wauquiez to establish partnership with Syunik, which is under constant threat from Azerbaijan.
As a result of the event, Armenia’s Syunik province’s Governor Robert Ghukasyan and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region President Laurent Wauquiez, in the presence of Armenian Ambassador to France Hasmik Tolmajian, signed a statement ‘On the intention of partnership between the Syunik province of the Republic of Armenia and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region of the French Republic’.
