Despite the political tension and the difficult economic situation in the world, the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) consistently implements integration, deepening the cooperation between the member states, the Prime Minister of Armenia announced at the regular session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Yerevan.
In the conditions of new, global challenges, according to Nikol Pashinyan, positive dynamics of mutual trade turnover was recorded in the current year.
The trade turnover of Armenia and EEU member states reached $2.8 billion in January-August, increasing by 74 percent compared to the same period last year. Exports from Armenia have increased twice, and imports - by 58 percent, the Prime Minister stated during the extended-format meeting.
Nikol Pashinyan (Prime Minister of Armenia) - Industrial cooperation and the development of joint productions, including in the field of high technologies, will allow our countries to become more competitive. The development of joint project financing policy will become one of the main factors in the creation of a single market for own products and can replace imports.
As for the formation of common energy sectors in the EEU, it is not only a fulfillment of the EEU agreement, but also a necessary condition for economic integration in order to fully develop the industrial sector.
We are ready for a constructive dialogue, taking into account the interests of all member states. Otherwise, EEU member states cannot use the potential of the common gas market before the end of the bilateral agreements. Of course, this is a very sensitive topic, and we need to understand the tariff issue, at least in the medium term.
