Today is a significant day in the history of Armenian-Iranian long-standing and neighborly relations. Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this during the opening ceremony of the Iranian consulate in Kapan with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.
“Establishment and effective operation of the Consulate General of Iran will give a new quality to the special relations of the two countries, promote bilateral cooperation and contribute to the development of Armenian-Iranian relations.
It is noteworthy that this important event takes place in the 30th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Iran.
In the past 30 years, our path has been marked by our sincere drive to develop strategic relations in the spirit of brotherhood and close partnership,” Mirzoyan said.
He expressed confidence that from now on, necessary efforts will be made to further deepen and strengthen future mutually beneficial cooperation.
“I want to assure you that the decision of the Iranian authorities to open a consulate general in Syunik province, which is the backbone of our country, is deeply perceived and appreciated in Armenia,” said the Armenian Foreign Minister.
