"Today, my good friend Mr. Abdollahian and I stressed with satisfaction that the relations between our countries, which are based not only on the thousand-year friendship and brotherhood of our peoples, but also on the deep understanding of our common state and natural interests, are consistently deepening in different sectors". This is an announcement by the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in capital Yerevan.
"The key topic of our discussions was the regional security and stability situation. I briefed the details of to the work on the development of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty to my colleague.
Of course, I touched upon the details and consequences of the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia on September 13-14. I reaffirmed the imperative of the withdrawal of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the release and repatriation of the Armenian prisoners of war illegally held in Azerbaijan, the clarification of the fate of the victims of enforced disappearances, and the ceasefire maintenance.
We agree that the problems between the countries in the region must be resolved through negotiations and constructive dialogue, excluding the use of force or the threat of use of force. We highly appreciate friendly Iran's principled and clear position regarding Armenia's territorial integrity, as well as the efforts of Iran aimed at the establishing stability and peace in the region", Mirzoyan said.

The Foreign Ministers of the two countries also exchanged ideas on the prospects of giving a new breath to the existing cooperation in trade, energy, transport, high-tech, and referred to the topic of continuing and completing large joint economic projects.
"We attach special importance to the strengthening of our relations with Iran in road infrastructure, and in this regard, the importance of the implementation of the Persian Gulf-Black Sea international transport corridor project should be emphasized, which can also include other interested parties and countries" , said Mirzoyan.
