"I am happy that this visit of Minister Abdollahian will be marked by also a very important event, the solemn opening ceremony of the Consulate General of Iran in Kapan tomorrow, which we will participate in with my colleague", Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan informed about this during a joint press conference with Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Yerevan.
"This is a significant and symbolic step, which shows the readiness to raise the cooperation between the two friendly countries to a new level of quality.
I have no doubt that the Consulate General of Iran will contribute to the development of the trade-economic, transport, energy and scientific-cultural sectors in the Syunik region", Mirzoyan said.
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Adollahian noted that by establishing a consulate it will be possible to create easier and more convenient conditions. "The issue of roads is very important. The opening of the Iranian consulate in Kapan, Syunik region, is one of the important tasks that my colleague and I have to carry out tomorrow," he said.
