On October 18, the delegation of the EU technical assessment mission, along with the commander of the second army corps of Armenia’s Armed Forces, Colonel Vahram Grigoryan, and head of the Vardenis community Aharon Khachatryan, were accompanied to the border zones of the Tretuk and Kutakan settlements of the Vardenis community, affected by the Azerbaijani aggression of 2022. Governor of Gegharkunik province Karen Sargsyan informed about this on her Facebook page.
“I have presented information about the 12 affected settlements in Chambarak and Vardenis enlarged communities as a result of the enemy's aggression, of which Sotk and Kut settlements suffered a lot of damage.
148 buildings were damaged in Sotk, 12 apartments in Kut, 2 apartments in Verin Shorzha (Upper Shorzha). We have two damaged schools, one damaged kindergarten, administrative buildings of settlements, a library and a medical center. We have 8 apartments damaged by shelling, which need to be completely rebuilt. Civil infrastructures were also damaged, the implementation of agricultural works became risky by about 40 percent.
Vahram Grigoryan, the commander of the second army corps of Armenia’s Armed Forces, presented a report to the members of the EU delegation on the consequences of the aggression against the Republic of Armenia by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on May 12, 2021 and September 13, 2022.
Observations were carried out using measuring devices.
The members of the delegation of the EU Technical Assessment Mission assured that they will conduct in-depth studies and submit regular reports.
