Iron Wolf 2022-II, one of the largest international military exercises in Lithuania, kicks off on Monday, the Lithuanian Armed Forces said in a press release, LRT reports.
Troops from Lithuania, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia will be training in and around the General Silvestras Žukauskas training grounds near Pabradė, eastern Lithuania, for two weeks.
The drills will involve approximately 3,500 troops and 700 units of military equipment, such as tanks, infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), armoured personnel carriers, artillery pieces, supply and administrative vehicles.
The exercise will assess the ability of the staff of the Iron Wolf Brigade’s Algirdas Mechanized Infantry Battalion to plan and carry out offensive, defensive and other military operations.
The drills will also involve the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup stationed in Lithuania as well as units and representatives from other forces of the Lithuanian military.
