Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan held a meeting on October 17 with the newly appointed Ambassador of Brazil to Armenia Fabio Vaz Pitaluga.
The Speaker conveyed good wishes to the ambassador in the implementation of his mission.
Speaking about the inter-parliamentary format of bilateral relations, Simonyan said that an Armenia-Brazil Friendship Group has been set up in the Armenian Parliament, and expressed hope that soon the Brazilian parliament will launch the Brazil-Armenia Friendship Group.
Simonyan and Ambassador Fabio Vaz Pitaluga noted the importance of multi-sectoral cooperation and implementation of steps contributing to this.
Details on the September 13 Azerbaijani attack against the sovereign territory of Armenia and its aftermath were discussed.
Speaker Simonyan said that he is calling for a strong and targeted condemnation by the international partners to the aggression unleashed by the Azerbaijani military-political leadership against Armenia, the gross violations of the principle of prohibiting the use of force or the threat of use of force against territorial integrity stipulated in the UN Charter.
